I have an interesting relationship with problems. As a CFO I prevented them, as a CEO I had to prove one was worth solving, and as an operator I fixed them for others. Now I'm building a system that fixes them for everyone.

The only side I haven't tried is being the problem. Give it time.

How I got here

Levente Bereczki

I built my very first accounting system when I was 14. Then I took a detour to philology, which later turned into an unlikely asset in AI system architecture and in legal-adjacent work, and eventually moved on to business studies.

In 2021 I co-founded my first startup, Scraping Robotics (interview, in Hungarian), as CFO and later CEO: lasers, machine learning and early AI to automate industrial scraping, a precision metal-finishing job still done by hand, a problem others considered impossible. We solved it, won Hungary's first university startup demo day, raised two VC rounds and grew the valuation 8x, so we kept building the "perfect product" and got to present it across Europe and North America. Then the market turned, and we were there with a perfect product and not much upside. Rather than become a zombie company spending all the funds on a shrinking market, we closed it and returned as much as possible to our investors, with me acting as liquidator.

One of my previous investors then offered me a finance job, and my operator career started. I went from financial planning to interim head of finance and back office at a US-headquartered startup with a complex international structure, cut accounting costs by 80%, took payroll processing from 4 days to 6 hours, and led the finance side of a restructuring that extended runway by 12 months. Meanwhile I completed my master's in accounting, and for my thesis I designed a controlling system for asset-light, early-stage European companies.

Across these roles I've both led and supported fundraises, cleaned up accounting and cap tables, and coordinated litigation, labor and commercial law matters across the US and multiple European jurisdictions. All this led to the idea behind Ravnar: a system that knows what input triggers what and acts on it, and only asks you when a decision needs you.
